The theme this year is "A joyful celebration of the life and death of birds"
We are taking a deep dive into bird population declines, efforts for bird conservation, and a celebration of the life of birds we have now. With this theme, we want to give space for people to learn about the human-made issues that birds face, grieve the death of all the birds we've lost, and celebrate the life of the birds that are all around us right now. Here are some examples of topics for workshops and presentations related to the theme:
- Avian flu, bird-window collisions, etc.
- How does your culture celebrate death?
- Friday the 13th field trip
- Lead poisoning, DDt, fishing line
- Falconry for rodent control
- Pelicans' recovery/ comeback
Please note:
- Deadline: August 4th
- Filling out this form is not the final step. Once we receive your information, our team will get back to you with any final details that we need to smooth out before adding your field trip, workshop, or presentation to our schedule and registration system.
- If you have multiple ideas for a field trip, please do not hesitate to submit separate forms for each one! We'd love to have many options for festival-goers to enjoy the weekend!
If you are unable to lead a field trip, workshop, or presentation, but are interested in helping out with field trips, workshops, or presentations for the festival, please go to our Volunteer Form (opens mid-August) here:
