Are human beings destined to fail as a species? That is to say, Gross, et al. paints a pretty bleak picture of human beings. Most people are liars and even those who are honest will tolerate dishonesty that is beneficial to them. Is there any way to argue that perhaps this experiment overestimates our dishonesty or our tolerance of dishonesty? Or is the picture as grim as Gross, et al. suggest? *
