GT Choirs Interest
We're so glad to hear you're interested in joining a choir at Georgia Tech! Let us know how to reach you here, and someone will be in contact with you near the start of the Fall semester to let you know how to join.

Here's a little bit of information about each choir:

Chorale
Chorale is a non-auditioned mixed choir open to all at Georgia Tech who want to sing!

Chamber Choir

Founded in 1998, the Chamber Choir has since established itself as one of the premiere college vocal ensembles in the Southeast. Comprised of select, auditioned mixed vocalists, its members are primarily all-state-level singers with extensive backgrounds in choral singing. Rehearsals are held in the West Village Academic Center on Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:15 PM.

Repertoire varies from semester to semester, and includes large and small works in the standard repertoire (both unaccompanied and with instruments) modern music, world music, and experimental music with extended technique. Most recently, the Chamber Choir performed Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff, as well as various settings of Magnificat by Palestrina, Bach, Bruckner, Pärt, and Górecki. The Chamber Choir was recently featured with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a production of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and as the backup choir for the Eagles on their 2020 Hotel California tour.

This past April, Chamber Choir sang a selection of contemporary choral music at Carnegie Hall with Dr. Derrick Fox and the University of Nebraska-Omaha choir during a spring break trip to New York.

Treble Choir
Treble Choir at Georgia Tech is an inclusive, non-audition group of Soprano and Alto voices that rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday evening 6:30-7:45 p.m. Join a friendly community of students passionate about creating music as a creative outlet. Whether you have previous choir experience or just love to sing in the shower, we welcome all levels of experience and musicality! Each semester, we host an on-campus concert, sing the national anthem at various GT sporting events, and represent GT at off-campus choral events. Our director, Dr. B. E. Boykin, is a nationally renowned composer and choral musician. Our repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, and features pieces with a variety of origins (including some from here at Georgia Tech). To learn more about our repertoire, you can watch our previous concerts on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@georgiatechtreblechoir3265, and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram (@gt_treblechoir)!

Glee Club

The Georgia Tech Glee Club is the oldest student organization on the Georgia Tech campus, the oldest Glee Club in the South, and one of the oldest such groups in the country. Founded in 1906, it has a rich tradition of singing that includes numerous national and international tours, as well as radio broadcasts and recordings. It was one of the first college organizations to record its fight song, making Ramblin’ Wreck one of the most famous college fight songs in the country. The group has appeared twice on The Ed Sullivan Show and has entertained audiences around the world.

Featuring a “healthily irreverent” blend of music, drama, and vocal/visual performance antics, the Georgia Tech Glee Club sings entirely original arrangements of unaccompanied music, utilizing vocal percussion, movement, and technology. For two years, the Glee Club served as Ensemble-in-Residence in Honolulu at the 2006 and 2007 Hawaii International Conference on Arts & Humanities. In 2006, the Glee Club released its first studio CD recording of all original arrangements and compositions. In 2008, the ensemble made a successful solo debut appearance in New York City’s Carnegie Hall and completed a successful 10-day concert tour of England, Scotland, and Wales, garnering rave reviews for the performances. In March 2009, the Glee Club performed at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and was featured in an a cappella festival at The George Washington University.

Most recently, the ensemble surprised President Emeritus and Tech alum Wayne Clough by appearing for a performance at his retirement reception at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

For more information on the Glee Club, contact Dr. Jerry Ulrich, Director of Choral Activities, at julrich@gatech.edu.
