Texas Alpha Scholarship Application Form
In addition to many annual awards, grants and scholarships, TAEF also prides itself in meeting the needs of students in serious financial need as a result of a family crisis, health or financial setback or act of God that strikes communities.
Students who experience loss of financial resources in such tragedies as fire, flood or earthquake, or whose families find themselves without resources as part of a financial or other calamity may apply for funds through this open, need-based application process.

These scholarships often are underwritten by caring alumni to meet specific needs of students, but any student may apply. Where TAEF resources are unavailable to meet needs, the TAEF Board will seek funding from among our donors to meet the need.
Occasionally, pass-through grants may be made by otherwise disinterested parties to meet student need. No donor may derive personal benefit from any gift or award.

Additional Information
Because grants and loans are primarily based on need, not academic or leadership accomplishments, there are few additional items required to support your application.

However, one item we need to have is a confirmation from the chapter president that you are a member in good standing.  Please have the Chapter GP provide an email to state such or provide his letter as an attachment to your application.

You may submit this application and any additional materials in one packet (or attached to an email) to the chapter scholarship chair, or directly to the TAEF.  Completion of an application is no guarantee of being awarded funds.

*Grants are outright awards that require no repayment.  Grants are restricted to educational costs (tuition, books, fees, etc).

Low/No-Interest Loans can be made for amounts up to $2,500 and can be for non-educational expenses limited to basic needs (rent, food, medical, etc.).
