On a sheet of paper, complete the following for each situation below:
a. Motion Description
b. Sketch
c. Classification of motion variables
d. Algebraic solution
e. Numeric solution
1. A 137 kg cubic giraffe, while passing the origin, accelerated at 0.22 m/s² [→] for 12 s. It acquired a final velocity of -24 m/s [→]. Determine the initial velocity of the giraffe.
2. A 149 kg cubic zebra, while moving away from the origin, accelerated at -0.25 m/s² [S] for 11 s. It achieved a final velocity of -27 m/s [S]. Determine the displacement of the zebra.
3. Beginning with an initial velocity of 24 m/s [W], a 138 kg cubic rhino, while moving away from the origin, accelerated at -0.81 m/s² [W] and moved 230 m [W]. What was the time of motion for the rhino?
4. A 172 kg cubic lion, while passing the origin, accelerated at -0.44 m/s² [→] and moved 349 m [→] over 14 s. What was the final velocity of the lion?
5. Starting with an initial velocity of -27 m/s [W], a 169 kg cubic hippo, while moving towards the origin, accelerated at -0.54 m/s² [W]. It achieved a final velocity of -35 m/s [W]. What was the time of motion for the hippo?
