Public Comment Being Accepted Regarding Revisions to Sections 5.0, 5.01, and 5.02 of the Standards and Guidelines

On April 14th, 2023 the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board (DVOMB) reviewed and approved revisions to Sections 5.0, 5.01, and 5.02 to be sent out for public comment.  At this time, the DVOMB is requesting public comments on these proposed revisions. The Board is offering all stakeholders the opportunity to comment and the Standards Revision Committee will be reviewing the public comments at a future meeting in 2023.

What changes are being proposed?

The Standards Revision Committee is in the process of revising and updating of Section 5.0 of the Standards and Guidelines. These changes provide an improved introduction that declares why domestic violence offender treatment is important and based on research-informed practices. Section 5.01 sets the stage for the rest of Section 5.0 by citing the principles for effective intervention. Next, Section 5.02 adds new language regarding who can provide domestic violence offender services.
