Compare your system's render performance against our community of users!
See here for results (updated automatically): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b3ggVifKsuT-cp2kQHjum_KnQ4-2jBmUIvzmu7BQZ34/edit?usp=sharing

Instructions:
Required bitrates- set to variable 24,000,000 bps maximum /12,000,000 average for FHD and 50,000,000 bps max. and 28,000,000 for UHD for MagixAVC renders. Render at 25.000 (PAL).

For Mainconcept use RC Mode: h264_VBR
For NV Encoder use Preset: default and RC Mode: VBR
For QSV use RC Mode: VBR and Encode Quality: 4
For VCE use Preset: Default and RC Mode: VBR - peak constrained

You are encouraged to submit results for different render resolutions and GPU encoding or no GPU encoding. You can fill out this form multiple times for different settings or machines.

Sample render settings for Magix AVC (UHD/4K).
Change Encode Mode for QSV, VCE, or Mainconcept. Use default preset.
Sample Render Settings for MagixAVC (HD).
Just change Encode Mode for QSV, VCE or Mainconcept.
User Name *
Unique name to identify you. Use Vegas Pro forum name if available.
Computer brand/model *
i.e. Dell XPS 15 9560; Acer Predator 69-793, OB (or "own build" for custom), etc.
Version of Vegas Pro *
This project works with VP 16 and newer
Build of Vegas Pro
Example: 424 (find this under help/about)
CPU Manufacturer *
Intel, AMD, etc.
CPU Model *
i7-7700HQ, i9-9900K, Ryzen 7-3700X, etc.
CPU Cores
Enter the number of CPU cores if known
Clear selection
Main GPU Mfg. *
Enter manufacturer for your primary GPU. For Intel this includes new dedicated Intel graphics cards. If you only have a processor-integrated iGPU, or no GPU at all, select none.
GPU Model
What is your specific GPU Model? Please include GTX or RTX for NVIDIA. For example: RX-6800XT, RTX 2080 Ti, Vega 64, ARC A380, etc. Not sure? Check Windows device manager and click on "display adapters"
Integrated GPU?
Most Intel processors have an integrated GPU such as the HD 530, HD 630 or UHD 630. Some AMD processors do as well ("Radeon Graphics"). If you have one working in Vegas, enter the model here.  If none or it is disabled write none. If you don't know, leave it blank.
Overclocked? *
If unsure, check no
Render frame size *
 FHD= 1920x1080, UHD= 3840x2160 pixels
Hardware Graphics Acceleration *
Is GPU enabled in Preferences/Video? If not, check "off" (none)
GPU Decoding
Is the GPU assisting with media decoding under preferences/file io (VP 18+). Please check what is listed under "Hardware decoder to use"
If your GPU isn't supported, or you turned it off for decoding, choose "Off."
Clear selection
Dynamic Ram preview
NEW: Dynamic ram preview (found under preferences/video) can have an impact on render times. Please report your dynamic ram preview during the render in megabytes (VP 19+ has it as a % of system ram but also report the megabyte total that is equivalent to.) If you don't know it leave this blank.
Clear selection
Render File Type *
Encode Mode *
Did you render using hardware graphics acceleration? The MagixAVC or MagixHEVC template gives choices to render with any available graphics cards. NVENC (NVIDIA), VCE (AMD) or QSV (Intel) will be in the template name. If you don't have any of these choices in Vegas, it cannot render with your GPU and you will be using CPU (Mainconcept software encoder).
Render time (minutes and seconds) *
In this format: 00m : 30s  or  01m : 30s
Explanation for Frames Per Second Playback
Average Frames Per Second for Playback *
Example: 4.25    Highlight only region 1 on the timeline (see the markers) and play back several times at best/full. Enter your average FPS value shown under the preview window (add min. and max frame rate and divide by 2). Hint: setting dynamic ram preview under preferences/video to 0 will give most accurate results. Please return dynamic ram preview to your normal amount when you do the render.
