CHARLTON MIDDLE SCHOOL students are given the opportunity to explore their musical skills and talents by choosing one of the courses below. Music choices do not exclude students from other specials (art, computer, technology, life skills, PE or health). MUSIC CLASSES ARE A FULL YEAR COMMITMENT.
BAND – Instrumental Music – Students rehearse with grade level during school hours and perform in after school performances. Students will have two days of Band on a six day rotation for the entire year.

Students entering Grade 5 choose a band instrument. The choices are the following: flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or drums.

Students must provide their own musical instruments. You may either purchase your own instrument or rent. Information on rentals will be available from our Band Director - any questions please contact Mr. Bartlett at

Band students will participate in after school rehearsals to prepare for shows.

CHORUS – Groups rehearse during school and participate in after school performances. Students will have two days of Chorus, on a six day rotation for the entire year.

Grade 5 students sing, explore Beethoven, play recorders, participate in movement activities and develop music reading skills
•
General Music students will not have any after school rehearsals.
