Course Objectives:

  • Understand international business ethics alignment with sustainable procurement
  • Define and emphasize the importance of sustainable procurement
  • Identify and integrate UN SDGs relevant to procurement
  • Address sustainability challenges in manufacturing and Supply Chain  including Circular Economy
  • Examine and apply current sustainability standards (GRI)

Outlines of core topics:
  • Apply Sustainable Procurement principles to procurement processes referencing ISO20400 & ISO 26000
  • Implement a Procurement Code of Conduct
  • Analyse key considerations for implementing sustainable procurement
  • Mitigate supply chain risks within the manufacturing sector
  • Explore effective strategies for organizing sustainable procurement
  • Use of standards in requirement planning
  • Adopt GS1 standard to improve information sharing (use of EPCIS,  RFID, GTIN )
  • Explore initiatives for environmental conservation and protection in the supply chain
  • Capture of Material Usage and material Wastage for the various stages of supply Chain
  • Understand, measure, and manage carbon footprints within the supply chain
  • Manage sustainability performance and reporting.
