Private Lesson Form

Lessons Offered: King offers private lessons in piano, brass, woodwinds, percussion, strings and guitar. Individual lessons are 30-minute sessions, and individual times are based on a teacher’s availability. 

Lesson Times: Please indicate on the registration form linked below your preferred lesson time. We will try our best to accommodate time requests. Time preferences will be given in the order the registrations are received.  

  • Lower school student lessons take place after school. Lesson slots will range from 3:00-4:30 p.m.

  • Middle school students have the option of either arranging their weekly lessons after school or during their music class time (band/strings, choir, based on teacher’s availability).

  • Upper school students have the option of arranging their weekly lesson during a study hall or a free period based on the teacher’s availability.

Lesson Fee: $65.00 per 30-minute session. Lessons will be billed monthly for the previous month taught.

Missed Lesson Policy: If a lesson is missed during a month, the lesson may be made up, reimbursed, or carried over to the next month. Lessons are only reimbursed if the teacher misses the lesson or if after-school activities are canceled due to severe weather. 

If your child is playing a sport, please plan ahead for any conflicts. Teachers may be willing to stay later the following week to help make up a missed lesson.

Cancellation Policy: If your child no longer wishes to continue with lessons, notification to the lesson teacher and Mr. Mendez needs to be received by email before the beginning of the next month. If a student quits lessons in the middle of a month, the family will not be reimbursed for the remaining lessons in that month.

Instruments: Students are expected to rent/buy their own instruments. Rentals are available at Greenwich Music, Crescendo Music, and Atelier Strings. King has a limited amount of instruments for students who cannot rent or buy their own instruments. Contact Mr. Mendez at gmendez@kingschoolct.org for more information.

Pick Up: Lower school students must be picked up directly after lessons or enrolled in the after-school care program.

Lesson Policies *

If a student does not inform the teacher of a conflict with in 24hrs prior to the schedule lesson time, the student is responsible to pay for the missed lesson.
