As nurses and healthcare professionals in the Macomb and Oakland county communities, we are on the front lines putting our own health and safety at risk to combat the Covid-19 crisis and safe lives. We are dedicated to serving our community, the state of Michigan, and the Country during this pandemic, but in order to do that we need Personal Protect Equipment such as N-95 masks to prevent ourselves from getting sick while we care for others. The reality is our local hospitals, McLaren Macomb in Mount Clemens and Ascension Providence, Rochester are already desperately short of the masks and other equipment needed to keep us safe.

We call on President Trump to use his power under the Defense Production Act to immediately begin mass producing N-95 masks and other protective equipment so our hospitals and hospitals across the country can effectively combat this pandemic while protecting our heroic front-line caregivers. The time for action is now.
