Dear Teacher,
We're excited about the opportunity to provide you with the support you need to get your students outdoors and learning.
Scientific research shows that when students learn outside, they:
-- exhibit higher levels of creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills (Moore & Wong, 1997)
-- are better able to focus (Wells, 2000; Faber Taylor et al., 2002; Martensson et al., 2009; Berto et al., 2015)
-- are more enthusiastic about learning (Lieberman & Hoody, 1998; Blair, 2009)
-- exhibit fewer disruptive behaviors (Ruiz-Gallardo & Valdes, 2013)
-- grow up to have positive attitudes toward the environment (Lloyd-Strovas, Moseley, & Arsuffi, 2017)
-- and have higher academic scores (Lieberman & Hoody, 1998; Matsuoka, 2010; Williams & Dixon, 2012; Wu et al., 2014; Berezowitz et al., 2015; Chawla, 2015; Wells et al., 2015)
This workshop is NOT a step-by-step, how-to program for teaching kids outside. It's an exploratory workshop where you'll have the opportunity to design a strategy that works for you and your classroom. We'll be facilitating the process and providing support to ensure your success!
This workshop will be held online with two sessions available to choose from: July 20-23 or July 27-30; from 1-2:30 pm.
