PLR Bring I.T. Permission Form 2021/22

Complete this form to give your child permission to bring a technology device from home to school each day. NOTE: you will need to complete a separate form for each child. When you have completed this form and click submit you will be given the opportunity to "Submit another response."

Students and adults use a wide variety of personal devices in their lives, including phones, handheld devices, tablets, and laptops. With full school coverage of wireless network availability, schools are encouraged to embrace the use of student and staff owned technology within classrooms by allowing students to bring their own personal devices to school.

This year, more than ever before, we are encouraging students to bring their own device to school each day, as our existing inventory of devices is being shared with the virtual school. Appropriate personal devices for students include smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks, and laptops.

You are encouraged to have a discussion with your child around the responsibilities that will come with bringing a personal device to school. Parents and students are advised that the school and staff members of P.L. Robertson Public School are in no way liable for the loss or damage of the device or any equipment associated with the devices. Students will be expected to follow the PLR Bring I.T. Norms (https://tinyurl.com/y6ahh3ro) governing the use of personal devices in school as well as the IT Uses and Abuses document (https://tinyurl.com/ybvxnhvq) which apply to the use of all technology in the school.

2. I understand and agree that P.L. Robertson school and staff are in no way liable for loss or damage of the device or any equipment associated with the device. I understand that responsibility for the device rests solely with my child.

3. I understand that during school hours from 8:45 am until 3:05 pm the device is solely for learning purposes and may not be used for personal reasons without express permission from school staff. The device is not to be used during recess or nutrition break.

I DO NOT AGREE with one or more of these statements, and therefore my child will NOT be bringing a personal device to school.
