Application Process
The Design Fabrication Zone accepts new membership applications on a rolling basis that aligns with Toronto Metropolitan University's semester-based calendar. We screen new applications mid-month in March, July, and November for onboarding into our summer, fall, and winter cohorts respectively.
After undergoing a preliminary screening process, successful membership applications will be invited to partake in an interview with the Design Fabrication Zone admissions team. Our application process takes approximately 1 month from application to onboarding.
Application Form: In addition to a series of standard intake questions regarding your project, practice, and fabrication experience, you will be asked to share the following information when filling out this application form. We suggest you have it ready before you begin!

About the DFZ
The Design Fabrication Zone (DFZ) is an interdisciplinary hub for design and fabrication that strategically propels early-stage ideas for inventions, businesses and installations along the continuum from design to prototype to mass manufacturing. We provide membership-based supports and services to uplift creative ideas and entrepreneurial projects from our downtown headquarters in The Creative School Innovation Studio at Toronto Metropolitan University.
