Miss ORA Pageant Rules of Competition


1. Single, have never been married or pregnant.
2. Contestants must be a Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, or Oklahoma resident.
3. Miss contestants must be enrolled in school or work in the state of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, or Oklahoma.
4. Contestants must have not been convicted of a felony.
5. Absolutely no use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco from the time you enter as a contestant until your reign is over if you are to win. This will result in immediate disqualification.
6. The Miss ORA Pageant and ORA Board of Directors reserves the right to refuse any entry.
7. Pageant Director and ORA Board of Directors decisions are final.
8. Queens will wear their crown, sash, and buckle at all rodeos and appearances.
9. Queens will be expected to be apart of the ORA Flag Team and carry flags throughout the performance. You must be at the gate 30 minutes before the grand entry starts. *Only exception is Little Miss ORA*
10. Queens will be expected to help sell raffle tickets during the rodeos, help sell advertising for the finals program book, put up banners at rodeos if need be, and to meet with sponsors in the town where they are held.
11. Queens will always be dressed in western attire when they have on the crown and banner. No short sleeves or shorts. ORA dress code will be in effect when wearing crown and banner.
12. Queens will make sure they put their hats on so they will not come off while doing a queen’s run or carrying the flags. If you need to, use a stampede string, bobbie pins, or tape. Make sure it stays on. If your hat comes off in the arena, you will have to pay a $10 fine.
13. Queens will not let other people wear your crown or sash at any time. Crowns and sashes are expected to remain in good shape throughout your entire reign. If for any reason your crown and sash get ruined throughout the year, you are responsible for replacing it.
14. Queens will not chew gum while in crown and sash or during grand entry.
15. Queens must attend 10 regular seasons Ozark Rodeo Association rodeos throughout the year. Only extenuating circumstances with proof will be excused.
16. Queens must attend the 2023 ORA Finals, 2023 Awards Banquet, and the 2024 Miss ORA Pageant.

17. If for any reason the queen cannot fulfill her duties, the first runner up will take over as queen and all awards must be returned.
