KC Service Industry Anti-Racism Trainings
Trainings will have a focus for service & hospitality industry workers.

Monday, April 12th, 7-9pm: Anti-Racism & Organizing 101

A beginning conversation on the importance of ongoing personal anti-racism work, alongside organizing in our own spheres of influence. This training will help attendees develop a better defined understanding of racism & the cultural manifestations of white supremacy.

Monday, April 19th, 7-9pm: De-escalation & Bystander Intervention

It is difficult to know how to respond when encountering racism in our community. This is an interactive workshop aimed at equipping people with practical tools to disrupt, distract, and diffuse tense situations, especially when race is involved. Building on the understanding of the first training, the objective of this training is to teach and practice skills that will equip folks in ways of intervening, while centering the person of color who is affected.

Trainings will be facilitated by trainers from The Open Table Kansas City.

Trainings will be hosted on ZOOM due to COVID precautions.

It is highly encouraged to attend both trainings!

Free to attendees/generously sponsored by Oatly! In lieu of a registration fee, please consider a donation to Kansas City G.I.F.T. to support local Black-owned businesses. https://www.kansascitygift.org
