Fall 2020 School Re-Entry Survey (July) - PARENTS

Please complete this survey by Monday August 3, 2020. If you are a parent with children in multiple schools you will receive a survey link from each school. In order for us to accurately plan and redeploy staff to accommodate how many students will be back in person and how many will continue with at-home learning it is important that you complete this survey.

If you would prefer to speak with the school administrator, please indicate this in the spot below. School-based administrators will be back the first week of August and will attempt to connect with you as soon as possible (days and times vary depending on the school).

On July 21, 2020 Alberta Education Minister LaGrange announced that students will be returning to schools this fall under scenario 1 (near-normal daily operations with health measures). The decision as to which scenario a school operates is not left to individual school jurisdictions but is direction provided to school divisions by Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Given that the pandemic situation is fluid the scenario under which a school operates may change from time to time as provincial health conditions fluctuate.

**Definitions

**In school classes: students attend school everyday

**At-Home learning: students continue to receive instruction from a Livingstone Range School Division teacher but the student is not required to physically be in the school. The learning expectations in regards to curricular coverage will be similar to those attending in school classes.

When a parent/guardian selects “in school” or “at home” delivery, we are not asking at this time for a long term commitment however, I am confident that you understand how difficult it would be for the division to assign teachers their classes (at home or in school delivery), and for teachers to provide high quality instruction with students moving back and forth between delivery options on an ongoing basis. There may be a point where we require this decision to be made for a longer period of time. If/when we get to that point we will be in contact with you again.

Scenario 1: NEAR-NORMAL DAILY OPERATIONS with HEALTH MEASURES

Students have access to school every student day on the calendar. Public health measures will be followed. Some protocols, such as hand washing, hand sanitizing, restrictions on large group gatherings, and restrictions on close contact activities will be in place. Enhanced cleaning protocols and strict daily health screening by parents will be implemented.

Alberta Health Services and Alberta Education have declared NEAR-NORMAL DAILY OPERATIONS for schools this fall. In September, will you be sending your child(ren) to in school classes or do you prefer to continue with at-home learning for your child. *
