Journalism is an activities class that students can sign-up for during terms 1 & 2 or terms 3 & 4 (or both if your schedule permits).  Yearbook meets during 2nd period in room I-7 and Journalism (King's Page school newspaper) meets during period 3 in room I-7.  Although Yearbook and Journalism is not like a “regular” class, both classes require students to be committed and be responsible. Of course, we also have a lot of fun. Students are required to have and maintain at least a 2.5. Students must have a recommendation from at least two teachers. (Please ask the teacher if they are willing to complete a brief form to recommend you.)  Students must be responsible and must be willing to complete some aspects of the class outside of the class (attending events, conducting interviews, taking photos) and being willing to do whatever is needed. Students also much be willing and available to attend SMHS activities (sporting, performing arts, and other activities) that will occur outside of the regular school day. Journalism students must also submit a piece of writing.
