The SproUTing Teachers Sustainability Program is funded by the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation and offered by the University of Texas at Austin.  There is no cost to this program.  This program is by application only and offers two types of coaching for schools with existing gardens:

1. Individual Teacher coaching to integrate use of school gardens into their existing curriculum and classroom plans. Participants will receive one-on-one instructional coaching, resources for feeling more confident using the school garden and help modifying and locating TEKS-aligned lessons for use in your outdoor classroom. EACH TEACHER APPLICANT MUST COMPLETE HIS/HER OWN APPLICATION.  

Instructional Coaches are also able to apply to this track and receive coaching on how best to support their teachers in utilizing the school garden. We encourage schools to have multiple teachers apply as benefits from the training will be greater with multiple applicants.

2. Garden Leadership Team coaching to help develop best management practices and planning for long-term sustainability. Teams will receive group coaching to identify goals and opportunities for improvement to make the garden a highly utilized and well-managed educational space for the school. ONLY ONE APPLICATION SHOULD BE SUBMITTED PER SCHOOL FOR THIS TRACK SO PLEASE COORDINATE WITH YOUR TEAM ABOUT SUBMISSION.

IF YOUR SCHOOL WANTS TO APPLY TO BOTH TRACKS, EACH TEACHER APPLYING FOR THE INDIVIDUAL TEACHER TRACK MUST SUBMIT A SEPARATE APPLICATION AND EACH GARDEN TEAM SHOULD SUBMIT A SINGLE APPLICATION.

Application requirements include:
-Current existence of a usable school garden
-Principal agreement for participation
-Applicant schools with 3+ teachers applying for coaching will be prioritized
