Student Application for the Employment Specialist  Tuition Waiver through the UMA - UMF Collaborative Training Grant 
The purpose of this application is to (1) determine your eligibility for the grant funds, (2) present grant expectations and (3) to inform you of the grant's data collection process as part of the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan (MJRP).

In order to be considered for this grant you need to FIRST be enrolled in one of the classes. In order to be enrolled in one of the two courses, complete and submit the "Intent to participate form" which can be found here: 

Once you fill out and print this fillable form, you can scan and email it to  umfcontinuinged@maine.edu OR fax it to 207-778-8134. This will start the enrollment process. (There are free phone apps that can be used to scan the completed paper form to a pdf file which you can then email to the above address).
Once enrolled in either REH 270 or REH 271, you may submit the application below for a tuition waiver for one of the two Employment Specialist Courses.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are determined eligible for the tuition waiver provided by these grant funds, the waiver may impact your financial aid award. 

(Grant is funded by Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan - The Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan (MJRP) is Governor Mills’ plan approved by the Legislature to utilize Maine’s share of the federal pandemic relief funds provided by Congress. The MJRP funds came to the University of Maine System for workforce development, and were awarded for this project by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation.)

If I am accepted into the program then I agree to the following:

a)    The grant program faculty can review my academic record to track my progress while I am participating in the program. My academic progress may impact my future eligibility. 

b)    The grant program faculty will review my grades to ensure that I continue to be eligible for the program in subsequent semesters. Grades of C or better must be earned in the SART courses to remain eligible for future tuition assistance. 

c)     Deidentified data about my academic performance will be collected by the grant program faculty for tracking and reporting purposes.

d)    The tuition waiver funds are both time limited and budget limited. I am aware that funds may not be available for future semesters due to budget constraints or the end of the grant period.

Your participation in this grant program is completely voluntary. You can choose to not participate at any time. Tuition Reimbursement Rules

Plan for tuition reimbursement based on semester and student course load:

Fall 2023:

Take REH 270 (3 credits) = free tuition for 3 credits/1 course

Spring 2023:
Take REH 270 (3 credits) = free tuition for 3 credits/1 course.
Take REH 271 (3 credits) = free tuition for 3 credits/1 course IF not funded in fall 2023.
