Who You Are
We are looking for an experienced product design leader who is passionate about crafting fun, engaging, and rewarding experiences across the digital realm. Someone who can help us expand our product vision and design language to help our brand advance in meaningful ways. Curious but disciplined. Tenacious but humble. Able to balance visionary thinking with urgent execution. We need a natural leader who energizes both design and development teams. Above all, we need someone who is excited about connecting the world through chess.

What You’ll Own
- Craft FUN products, transparent interfaces, and memorable experiences
- Define and elevate the design language of our products
- Effectively communicate the vision and strategy of product decisions to business, design, and development partners
- Coordinate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to execute key initiatives
- Guide product development from idea or need to all the way through to delivery and reacting to user interaction
- Lead and grow a multi-disciplined product design organization
- Foster a culture that encourages innovation, ownership, and autonomy
- Establish workflows, processes, and standards for developing all design systems that scale across platforms and brands
- Create concepts, wireframes, designs, and prototypes for testing, experimentation and development

What You’ll Need
- At least 8 years of overall experience designing digital products
- 3+ years leading strong product design teams in a dynamic, consumer-oriented environment
- Capable of doing all of the work yourself, and comfortable with handing it all off to others
- Expert knowledge of UI and UX patterns for iOS, Android and web applications
- A keen ability to identify the gaps in the user experience that the rest of us miss
- Bold vision and passion for great design
- Excellent writing and speaking skills, telling stories that enroll team members in product vision
- User centered design process with a focus on quality and consistency
- Proven track record of effective collaboration with Product Management and Engineering
- Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Figma, and other design applications
