About the Survey

Welcome to Knaresborough’s community needs survey. Thanks for taking part. There are 15 questions in total, so answering the survey shouldn’t take too long.

Knaresborough has lots of community organisations that work to help others in their community. Their staff, volunteers and community helpers offer simple and practical activities that support people to thrive, grow and contribute within their community.

As the pandemic continues to impact our daily lives, these community organisations want to make sure they are providing the support local people really need. So, please tell us about the things that you, your family or neighbours need a bit more support with, or the things that you would like to do but are finding a bit difficult.

We don’t need your name and everything you tell us will be kept anonymous.

Help is available for people of all ages through a range of organisations. If you’re self-isolating or struggling to do everyday activities you may need help with things like shopping, collecting a prescription, or looking after pets. If you can, please contact family, friends or neighbours and let them know how they can help you. If you don’t have anyone who can help you can contact North Yorkshire County Council on
01609 780780. They are open every day between 8:00am and 5:30pm and will direct you to the right support.

Chain Lane Community Hub is conducting this Survey. Any information you provide to Chain Lane Community Hub will be kept private and confidential and only shared with our partner Knaresborough Connectors, based on the consents/permissions you provide. By completing and returning the survey you agree that Chain Lane Community Hub will process your data in line with their privacy policy GDPR – Chain Lane Community Hub.

You do not have to take part in this research. It is your choice. This survey is taking place during the Autumn and Winter 2021. We expect to keep your response until Spring 2021 to enable us to effectively complete our work. You may request deletion of your details at any time by emailing sue@chainlane.org.

How your information will be used?

Your information will be used to provide anonymised and summarised findings of the issues facing local people and the help and support they would find useful. The summary findings will be shared with other interested parties and may be publicised on the websites of Chain Lane Community Hub, Knaresborough Connectors and other community groups, local charities and statutory bodies (such as NYCC, Harrogate Borough Council and Knaresborough Town Council). This will help all these stakeholders to plan better ways to meet the needs of local people living in and around Knaresborough, and particularly to cope with the effects of the ongoing impact of Covid 19.

Your personal address and contact information will not be gathered by this survey. Responses that you make in the Survey will not be attributed to you personally without your permission.

If you need help managing day to day life you are invited to separately phone Knaresborough Connectors for help. If you choose to do this they will advise you of the data protection procedures they will use to handle your information.

If you want to become a Community Helper you are invited to separately email Sue Vasey (sue@chainlane.org) or our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Clare Robinson, on clare@chainlane.org with your contact information. Chain Lane Community Hub will handle personal data received through such emails in accordance with the privacy policy referenced above. By providing your name and contact information through such an email, you are giving permission for this data to be passed to Knaresborough Connectors for the express purpose of matching you with a community helping opportunity.
