Want to work on a departmental theatre production? Please use this form to express interest in working on any production, in any semester, in any discipline/role, for any type of credit (or just for fun!)
A few important notes:
- If you're interested in working on more than 1 production in a single year, please complete this form once for each production, noting your specific area(s) of interest for each show.
- All departmental productions are staffed by the faculty production manager (Prof. Laura Eckelman), who collects student interest via the WPI Theatre Production Interest Form.
- After receiving applications, the production manager may reach out to confirm eligibility, or to chat about the student’s particular interests, background, etc.
- Productions are typically staffed a full semester in advance (fall shows are staffed in the spring/summer, and spring shows are staffed in the fall).
- A few notes on performance:
- If you want to perform and are NOT doing a project (MQP, Minor Capstone, Practicum), you do NOT need to complete this form. (Simply stay tuned for information about auditions--which typically take place during A-Term & C-Term.)
- Students completing performance projects are guaranteed an acting position, but must still audition—after which they will be assigned specific role(s).
- Not all production roles/project types are available in all terms.
- Production assignments are prioritized by project type (MQPs, then Minor Capstones, then Practicums, etc.).
- Performance projects may only be completed in the Fall, and directing projects may only be completed in the Spring. (Performance ISUs may be completed in either semester.)
- Starting in Fall 2023, all departmental projects (Practicums & Minor Capstones) will be registered by semester (not term), to better reflect the actual schedule of our productions (which take place over the course of the Fall & Spring semesters).
- MQPs & Production Credit (1/3, 1/6, and NC) will continue to be registered by term.
- For projects (MQP, Minor, & Practicum) all prerequisites must be completed by the first term of the production semester.
- For example, if you want to do a Fall Practicum, all 5/3 of your HUA prerequisites must be completed by the end of A-Term.
