Nick Taylor Student Bursary 2024
A bursary offering Student Veterinary Nurses the chance to attend BVNA Congress 2024, due to take place on 11-13 October at Telford International Centre.

Nick Taylor embarked on VN career in 1985, qualifying in 1988 and working predominantly in small animal and mixed practices and hospitals for 18 years. From 2002 he retrained as a Diagnostic Radiographer and worked for the NHS for a further 18 years before returning to a Veterinary Referral centre as a Referral Radiographer in 2020.

Nick wants to encourage SVN’s to attend BVNA Congress for the wide range of lectures and workshops, to network with colleagues and trade stands, to catch up with friends and inspire future training and career options.

Nick first attended Congress in 1988 and this eventually led to him being involved with the BVNA as a Council member, Honorary Treasurer, Vice President, President (1999-2000) and Senior Vice President and he still regularly assists the BVNA when asked such as chairing lectures at Congress.

You never know where your Congress journey could eventually take you.

A bursary fund of between £100-£150 per year

The bursary may be awarded to BVNA STUDENT MEMBERS who are, at the time of application, engaged in Veterinary Nurse Training in the United Kingdom.

The bursary is to give a Student Veterinary Nurse the opportunity of attending BVNA Congress for at least one day.

The bursary is intended to meet the cost of a BVNA Congress ticket and to help with travelling expenses.

The Bursary recipient will be drawn at random from all the eligible entries.

The recipient will be expected to write a report of their experience at BVNA Congress detailing what they enjoyed and learnt at the event.  This report needs to be submitted within 4 weeks of attending the event and may be used to promote the student bursary in the years after 2024.

Applicants must have been a member of the BVNA for at least 3 months prior to the closing date.

The closing date is 30 June 2024

Recipients will be provided with a minimum of a one-day delegate ticket, which includes access to all lectures, lunch and refreshments.  Tickets are valid for the 2024 Congress only and are not transferrable to another individual or future BVNA Congress.
