Arts on the Horizon: Open Call 2021 - Musicians
Arts on the Horizon, a nonprofit, professional theatre company based in Alexandria, VA whose programming is specifically designed for an audience of children ages 0-6, is holding virtual open call auditions for the 2021-22 season for DC-area non-union musicians. Performances are 20-30 minutes in length and primarily take place during the morning hours. Arts on the Horizon’s productions are nonverbal, interactive, and incorporate physical theatre, object manipulation, and dance. Music is an integral component.

Compensation:
For rehearsals and performances, musicians are paid a weekly salary of $300-$325. For workshops, musicians are paid $15-$18/hour.

Video Submission Instructions:

We invite DC-area non-union musicians to submit a video audition between now and August 19th**.
 
Here is what we would love to have you share with us:

·         Play a short instrumental, upbeat song (no more than 3 minutes)

·         Also, we would love for you to briefly answer one (1) of the following questions at the beginning or end of your video:

1)       Why are you interested in theatre for the very young?

2)       What was your favorite childhood toy, story, or book and why?

3)       Tell us about a magical experience you had as a child.

Please upload the video as unlisted to YouTube, Vimeo, or another hosting site and share the link with us below.

**If you are interested in submitting an audition video, but are unable to do so by August 19th, please email us at casting@artsonthehorizon.org to make alternative arrangements. Please do not send your videos to this email address.
