Thank you for applying for the Japan International Burlesque Festival! Please read all info carefully and send the fully filled in application form back by clicking 'submit' once you have filled in all info. Changes cannot be made after submitting, so please take your time.

The JIBF is seeking talented and skilled performers in the following varieties of Burlesque: This can include All type of Burlesque, Group Acts, Emcees (Hosts), Bands, Singers, Vaudeville performances, Boylesque, Queerlesque, Cabaret, Comedy, and Circus Sideshow. Applications from Hosts, DJs and Bands are welcome, too.

If you feel ready to get on a great stage and entertain one of the best audiences, then please apply! We are carefully choosing your acts to be beautiful, amazing or different. Newcomers are welcome as well. We do not offer a specific newcomer night, but we welcome newcomers and give them a great chance to step into the industry on a very high level.

Selection Criteria

The strict main criteria for selecting performers is quality! We want to present our audience a varying and high grading program. Therefore we explicitly encourage everyone to apply regardless of cultural background, gender or belief. All the best and we are looking forward to your application.

TERMS & CONDITIONS and OFFICIAL APPLICATION FORM

1.    DATES and DEADLINES

Application deadline: June 22nd(Sat) 2024 until 18:00 Japan time

Notification to applicants: Around middle of July 2024

Dates of Festival: November 16rd(Sat)-17th(Sun) 2024

Nov 16th - The Best JIBF World Award NIGHT - Kobe, Japan

Nov 17th - The Best JIBF All Stars NIGHT - Osaka, japan

*Once accepted into JIBF performers have to confirm within 10 days of notice.

We would like to encourage all performers to list and promote the event on their online websites and social network profiles.

2.    TERMS OF AGREEMENT

We ask all participating international performers to not appear in any other shows in Japan during the dates of Nov 10th - Nov 24th, 2024. Violation of this term can result to not performing at JIBF.

*Please Note*

If competition participants or showcase participants apply by themselves to appear at JIBF, there will be no remuneration, so they can appear without an entertainment VISA.If you are planning to perform at other events in Japan and receive performance fees during the JIBF period, you will need a Japanese performance visa. In the worst case scenario, if you performance without having one, you will be arrested and will not be able to re-enter Japan. In that case, JIBF will not be held responsible. 

Performers authorize photography and filming of acts during the event and allow JIBF to use them for promotional use after the event. Web pictures will be made available to all performers after the event.

Once accepted into JIBF performers have to confirm within 10 days of notice.

3.    AGE

You must be 20 years of age or older to apply or participate. 

4.    Limitations on full nudity and lewdness

Full nudity is prohibited and coverings such as pasties and G–strings must be worn at all times. 

• ALL performers, are required to fully cover their genitals and anus with an article of clothing while on–stage.
• For ALL performers, regardless of gender or gender presentation, areolas must be fully covered by pasties or clothing at all times while on–stage.
• ANY incorporation of full nudity, sex toys, vulgarity, or explicit sexual imagery of any kind (real or simulated) are prohibited onstage.
• Failure to follow any of the above will result in immediate disqualification from the competition and removal from the show, and the performer shall be excluded from the JIBF performance opportunities.

These regulations are essential, so please stick to them closely. Failure to follow the terms and conditions can lead to cancellation of the scheduled performer.
