Creative Northland is looking for volunteers to help out with ArtBeat on Saturday 24 February 2024, 10am - 4pm, NEW Venue - Putahi Park to Reyburn House, Whangarei Town Basin.
ArtBeat is an annual event in Whangarei coming into its 27th year! It's a celebration of art, culture, and community engagement. The event brings together a diverse range of artists, performers, and creators across various disciplines. The town basin will be filled with all sorts of vibrant happenings from live music, performances from dancers, singers, circus and musicians. This is a family friendly event so expect lots of creative activities for children of all ages including face painting, bubbles and art and crafts stations. We aim to create a vibrant platform for our multicultural and diverse community to showcase their talents, creativity, and enrich the cultural fabric of our community.
We are especially in need of volunteers for the ‘Interactive Zones' and general event assistance. The general assistance tasks may include helping with pack in and pack out (setting up tables, chairs, gazebos, and more), assisting the stage manager, traffic management, zero waste superstars, helping on our Creative Northland info desks and more! There will also be a silent disco zone for festivalgoers to come and enjoy a boogie in the park, and a wellness zone featuring workshops and talks all day too.
Please note - Creative Northland will be hosting a pre-event briefing on Thursday 22nd Feb 5pm-7pm (either in person or via zoom link), please mark this in your calendar as volunteers will need to attend.
