2022-23 CISC/CIPAA Survey
We at CISC/CIPAA are parents/guardians of Irvine students just like you! We support our school community, students and staff through advocating for parent perspectives, advising school administration, fundraising, and much more. As your representatives, we want to hear from YOU. Your voice is very important to us. By filling out this survey you will be helping us decide on our priorities and direction for this year.

1. What grade & program is your child(ren) in?
2. How do you prefer hearing about CISC/CIPAA news and activities? Select your top 2 preferences for communications methods.
2 (b) Please suggest other ways to connect with you in the text box below.
3. Monthly CISC/CIPAA meetings are a great way to learn about what's going on in your school and are an opportunity to advise the school administration. All Irvine families are invited to attend these meetings virtually using the CBE-approved technology (MS Teams).  Help us understand why you do or do not attend by checking all that apply.
3 (b) What would motivate you to attend?
4. CISC (Colonel Irvine School Council) can support the Irvine school community in various ways. We use the survey results to direct us for the current school year.  Of the following choices, please rank how important the following priorities are for us to focus on.  You can also suggest your own initiatives in the text box below.

Clear selection
4 (b) What other things do you think CISC can do to support the Irvine school community (e.g. organizing a mentoring program, tutoring program, alignment with sister Mandarin programs)?  **Please indicate if you would be willing to volunteer to organize these initiatives.
5. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council.  Historically CIPAA (Colonel Irvine Parent Advisory Association) has supported school wide events/activities/field trips (eg. Lunar New Year, Xmas Carol, etc.), equipment/materials for options (eg. A/V, robotics, construction, phys. ed, band, etc.), teaching resources (eg. artist in residence, exam bank, Bridges program, etc.), student council, and charitable activities.  What spending areas would you like to see CIPAA support for Colonel Irvine School?

6. CIPAA typically hosts a fundraising casino every 24 months (*note: currently delayed due to Covid) and AGLC regulates how often they are held and how resulting funds can be used. CIPAA can help fill funding gaps by organizing other fundraising activities throughout the year. Historically, we have heard that Irvine families were open to up to 3 major fundraisers** a year, and that the fundraisers of choice were the cheque writing campaign and campaigns where students worked to support a fundraiser. This year, major fundraising efforts organized by Irvine parent groups include CIPAA's Oct-Nov. Cheque Writing Campaign. (**Major fundraisers do not include student-led fundraisers for charity.)  How often should Irvine Parent Groups (eg. CIPAA or CIBPA - band parents) hold fundraisers in a school year? Please explain.
6 (b) What Irvine school community fundraising activities do you prefer/suggest and why? (eg. Admazing book sales, cheque writing campaign, product/service sales, raffle ticket sales, special event/activity ticket sales, treat sales, bottle drives, etc.)
7 (a) We are always looking to improve! Please help us get better.  What are we doing well?
7 (b) What could we be doing better?
7 (c) Any other feedback for us?
