LUSD Wellness Committee Survey
Wellness Committee Update:

Most of our students have returned to the classroom for in-person instruction, which brings us to resuming our Wellness Committee meetings starting December 8th.

To help us all regroup for this meeting and better serve our district, please take a few minutes to answer the following questions concerning the goals from our last Wellness Committee Meeting last March 2020. The goals are as listed:

a. Increase access to mental health resources for students, including marketing this service
(this goal is in process as an ongoing resource. We would report programs/services LUSD is offering to students.)

b. Increase school cafeteria participation by offering a survey to students to get input on menu choices and implement student focus groups that would assist us in taste-testing new recipes.

c. Increasing fundraiser awareness and the use of Smart snack compliant items. Email would be sent to principals encouraging them to adhere to Smart Snack guidelines for their fundraising and share the regulations with parent organizations at their site.

d. Development of online access to local resources supporting nutrition, physical activity, and wellness.  This online access would give families the opportunity to see, and connect with, upcoming opportunities that support our wellness message (this goal has been met during COVID by providing an interactive calendar on our website.  This calendar is updated every 30 days and provides resources for families and links to outside information).
