About the Award:
The CUNY SLU Distinguished Alumni Award was founded in 2019. Each year, SLU recognizes an alumnus whose work or activism embodies the mission of the school - a dedication to public service and social justice. The award recognizes the recipient's contributions to their community, union, or their efforts towards social change, more broadly. The Distinguished Alumni Award recipient addresses the graduating class and partakes in a symbolic passing of the torch ceremony at commencement.
