NOTE: you MUST be a current Oregon State University faculty member or be in the process of being hired as a faculty member for Oregon State University to participate in these trainings.  We do not currently accept registration from faculty at other universities.

These workshops are offered before each academic term (including summer), so if you are teaching an Ecampus course in later in the calendar year, you will have additional opportunities to engage in the training.

Welcome (or welcome back) to Ecampus!  We are excited to partner with you to help make sure you and your students have an exceptional online teaching and learning experience.

We now offer two tracks of the New Instructor Training workshop:

1.) Ecampus New Instructor Training - 2 hours: in the first hour, we will cover tips and tricks for facilitating an Ecampus course in Canvas, our learning management system, including any recent updates that are rolling out as the term begins.  In the second hour, we will provide tools and strategies for teaching online, including information about how Ecampus courses are designed, what to look for and update in the course site before the term begins, and how to be an effective and efficient online instructor.  This workshop is intended for faculty who are NEW to teaching Ecampus courses or who haven't taught online in many years.

2.) Ecampus Instructor Training "Refresh" - 1 hour: this one-hour workshop addresses information about what we know about our Ecampus learners, their needs, and how to best serve them; identifies online teaching best practices; and offers the opportunity for participants to discuss concrete, practical strategies for facilitating an online course and managing workload. This "refresh" workshop does not cover Canvas basics and is intended for faculty who have not taught an Ecampus course in a term or two or who teach Ecampus courses regularly but never completed New Instructor Training.
