Initially focusing on asana, specifically Vinyasa Yoga and Hot 26, the program has undergone a notable transformation. It now commences with an integration of profound Yogic principles and philosophy, fostering a profound understanding of yoga's rich heritage among students. At the heart of the program is Optimal Movement, shaped by Colleen's insights from Shawn's 300 Hour CYT training, which emphasized functional movement. Colleen is dedicated to ensuring that the program equips instructors to prioritize choice and options over rigid "shapes" or gymnastics-inspired movements when teaching at DDY. Her vision is to create a more inclusive and accessible space at DDY, welcoming individuals of all ages and body types.

Shawn's connection with Downtown Desert Yoga dates back to 2011 when he initiated an annual 200-hour CYT Program. As he introduced a 300-hour program, Colleen took the reins of the 200-hour program. Over the years, Colleen, Lorelei, and Shiloe have overseen the program. With Colleen's eagerness to collaborate with Shawn once again, he is thrilled to share his expertise in training aspiring yoga instructors to embody authenticity.
