Thank you for your interest in displaying some of your work at The Overlook. The goal of this program is to support artists in the gym community and the neighborhoods surrounding the gym. We look forward to seeing your pieces on display in our space!
Rules for display:
1. Artists will be responsible for installing and removing their work in the time frame in which they are given. This includes providing all installation tools and hangers. Installs will take place on Thursday/Friday and removals will take place on Monday/Tuesday. All installs and removals must be completed by 5 PM. Any art not removed by the artist during the schedule removal time will be removed by The Overlook and its staff. The Overlook and its staff will not be responsible for any damage to art that must be removed by its staff.
2. Art will be on display for 3 months. Artist's selections will be made 3 weeks prior to the install date to allow adequate time for installation prep. We encourage artists to come in and see the space prior to installation to make the best use of the display areas.
3. All pieces displayed must be family friendly.
4. Artists may sell the art that is displayed. All transactions must take place between the artist and the buyer. The Overlook will not act as an intermediary for purchases. All pieces that are sold must remain up until the end of the display period, unless the artist comes to install a new piece when the sold piece comes off the wall. Any art removal/swap must occur before 5 PM.
5. The Overlook and its staff are not responsible for the art displays in the building as we do not have constant direct oversight of the display areas.
6. Artists must submit a bio and social media information to The Overlook within 1 week of selection. The Overlook will announce the artist and their work during the week of installation. Artists are also encouraged to have a printed bio that will accompany the display to encourage our patrons to learn more about the artist and enagage with their social media.
