Participation registration for 'Us' - a mass movement event
Nelsonians – we want you! We’re looking for participants to take part in ‘US’, a mass movement performance for the Nelson Arts Festival's 'Night Vision'. Amateurs and professionals, experts and the curious - all are welcome to learn this simple short gestural choreography and be a part of this magical community event. We only require that you are 14yrs of age or older, and are available on the evening of THURSDAY 1st OCTOBER.

ABOUT ‘US’ – A Mass Movement Event
Brought to you by choreographer Chloe Loftus, ‘Us’ is a processional mass movement event that sees Nelsonians reclaim the streets. A long line of community in unison, weaving through the city and its galleries, this event is a celebration of the unique heart and soul of this city - its people. Drawing inspiration from Pina Bausch’s ‘lines’, this serene and symbolic mass movement happening is a reminder of the power of community. 'Us' brings a joyful sense of connection, to each other and this city.

The material will be simple with just 16 counts of choreography to master! This will be performed in unison as we travel in a line through the streets of Nelson. This project is fully accessible, with the material adaptable to suit every body. We just require you to attend a one hour initial rehearsal and be available for the evening of Thursday 1st October. We will also offer a practice video that you can watch in your own time to rehearse at home. Plus, it'll be great fun, championing glorious community spirit!
