In-Person Audition Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Fall/Winter 2024 season of SoCo Women's Chorus! The mission of SoCo Women’s Chorus is to provide Central Texas singers with the experience of musical artistry and excellence through choral singing and group performance. Our chorus is dedicated to reflecting Austin’s diversity and providing community service through music. We welcome singers of all gender identities with voices in the treble (soprano and alto) range. 

THIS IS OUR FORM TO SCHEDULE AN IN-PERSON AUDITION. Once you fill out this form, you will hear back from our Chorus President to schedule an audition for Sunday August 25th sometime between 1-6 pm. (If you would like to complete a VIRTUAL audition instead - see here.)

Auditions
Auditions for our Fall/Winter 2024 season will be held on August 25, 2024. If you can't make it to this date, other options are available for in-person and virtual auditions. Auditions take about 15-minutes and are private with you and our Artistic Director, Lisa Holt. You will be asked to vocalize to test your range and then sing a familiar song a cappella (either The Star-Spangled Banner or a song of your choice).

Rehearsals and Performances
We rehearse at a location in Central Austin (just north of the Texas Capital building) where there is plenty of free parking. Rehearsals include: 

- New Member Orientation: Tuesday August 27th from 7-8pm
- Full Chorus Rehearsals: Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:15 pm (September 3rd to December 8th)
- Sectional Rehearsals by Voice Part: Sunday afternoons for one hour between 2:00 and 6:00 pm (September 8th to October 13th)
- Full Chorus Retreat: Saturday October 26th from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
- Full Chorus Tech Rehearsals: Friday September 13th, Thursday November 14th, and Tuesday December 10th (late afternoons or evenings)

We'll have several performances including:

- Use Your Voice, Use Your Vote Concerts: Saturday September 14th
- National Anthem at the Komen Central Texas More Than Pink Walk: Sunday October 27th (optional)
- Harvest Fest: A Benefit Concert for The Central Texas Food Bank: Sunday November 17th
- Free Community Concert at Austin Central Library: Saturday November 30th
- Winter Concerts 'LUX!': Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th

Dues
Dues help pay for the cost of music, our paid staff, and other costs and are $200 per season (payable in one lump sum or monthly). We don't want money to be a barrier to singing with us so dues exemptions or reductions are available.
