HAABE Appointed Positions Nomination Form
Please complete this form to show your interest in participating on the HAABE Board.  The nomination form is open from October 17, 2023 to October 30, 2023.

In order to be on the HAABE Board, you need to be a current HAABE Member.  If you are not a current HAABE Member, you can become a member by following this link: http://haabe.org/join-haabe.html

The person appointed to the HAABE Board will be contacted on November 10, 2023.

Please see the description of each position below.

Public Relations
  • Shall reach out to community partners to secure sponsorships and promotions for our HAABE events.
  • Shall raise awareness regarding  HAABE membership, events, announcements, etc.
  • Shall collaborate and coordinate with HAABE Executive Committee to create, design and disseminate promotional items regarding activities and events.
  • Shall closely coordinate and collaborate with the Webmaster/Social Media office.
  • Shall reach out, build, and strengthen relationships and partnerships with HAABE membership, other chapters and professional organizations.
  • Shall create a specific and measurable annual goal related and track progress toward the goal during the year.

Parliamentarian
  • Shall chair the constitution committee and maintain correct parliamentary procedure during all meetings by latest Edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, The Parliamentarian is a non-Voting member of the HAABE Executive Board.
  • Shall assist the President in the correct parliamentary procedures during the meetings.
  • Shall be responsible for all matters relating to the constitution and bylaws.
  • Shall study matters of federal and state legislation affecting education of linguistically and culturally diverse students in the Houston area and inform the membership of these matters.
  • Shall create a specific and measurable annual goal related and track progress toward the goal during the year.

Newsletter Editor
  • Shall collaborate and coordinate with all HAABE Board members to capture board updates, news, events, celebrations, promotions, etc., to showcase in the Board’s newsletter.

  • rite, edit and publish updates, news, articles, resources, etc., on Board’s newsletter twice a semester.
  • Shall conduct research around bilingual education, law and policy to serve multilingual learners and disseminate through newsletter.
  • Shall collaborate and coordinate with the Corresponding Secretary, Public Relations and Webmaster/Social Media offices to disseminate the newsletter to members and community partners via email, website, and social media platforms.
  • Shall create a specific and measurable annual goal related and track progress toward the goal during the year.
