Healwell has a variety of Squads that are essential to our impact. Our Squads meet monthly or every other month for an hour, depending on a variety of factors. Squad members should expect to spend 2-4 hours each month working on Squad-related activities (not including the virtual happy hours that you very well may decide you want to have with your fellow Squad members because they’re such incredible people). Some folks love Squad work and decide to stay in that role (and that’s awesome!). Many Squad members choose to make the transition to Board service, continuing to serve on a Squad while also applying to serve on the Board of Directors. It is not required that you ever transition from Squad work to Board service if the Squad is where you feel you fit best.

Currently, Healwell has 4 Squads and any one of them could potentially benefit from your passion and expertise!

Our Mission

Touch. Teach. Advocate.
We touch people affected by illness. We teach massage therapists how to provide care safely and effectively. We advocate for access to that care and for a broader role for massage therapists in healthcare.

Governance (supporting Healwell’s succession planning, creating effective and accurate processes, fine-tuning review processes, job descriptions and other essential management infrastructure)

Fundraising (supporting Healwell’s staff in fundraising events and efforts through messaging, planning and strategy, developing and supporting the implementation of fundraising ideas, monitoring trends in philanthropy and supporting the cultivation of new and existing donors)

Communications (working with Healwell’s staff to fine-tune and maximize Healwell’s messaging to various audiences, pursuing earned media coverage, creative collaboration to attract new stakeholders with compelling stories)
