This form is to sign up for the Forbidden Memories Winter 2020 15 card mod tournament. PLEASE read ALL of the rules below BEFORE signing up.

This tournament will only last 2 weeks. It will be a short, quick tournament.

This tournament was created alongside popular speedrunner/YouTuber EZScape! He will be promoting the event, and providing the prize money!

The tournament will be limited to 32 entrants. If we had any more, it would be nearly impossible to complete the tournament before the holidays. This keeps the brackets even.

The moment you have your match, it must be completed within 3 days.

The initial matchups will be partially chosen, and partially randomized.

I will choose 16 people who have similar availabilities, and then randomize those 16 to the top half of the bracket. Then, I will choose another 16 people with similar availabilities, and randomize them into the bottom half of the bracket. This ensures everyone will be against someone else with somewhat similar availability, making scheduling matchups easier, while still being randomized.

Please be truthful about your availability below. I understand not everyone will have as much time as everyone else, and that is fine, sign up anyway.

The 32 entrant limit will be MOSTLY based on first-come, first-served. However, if absolutely required in order to ensure people are available to do their matches in this short time window, I may have to pick some over others. This is unlikely, but possible, so I wanted to mention it.

Note: 3rd and 4th place will be determined by whoever got the faster time in the semi-finals. So, during the semi-finals, plan on finishing the run even if you lose the match.

Round 1 (32 entrants, 16 matches) - Begins Saturday, December 5th, ends after Monday, December 7th
Round 2 (16 entrants, 8 matches) - Begins Tuesday, December 8th, ends after Thursday, December 10th
Round 3 (8 entrants, 4 matches) - Begins Friday, December 11th, ends after Sunday, December 13th
Round 4 (4 entrants, 2 matches) - Begins Monday, December 14th, ends after Wednesday, December 16th

The GRAND FINALS match will be held on Saturday, December 19th, at 12pm EST. The grand finals match will be best two out of three, re-streamed to EZScape's YouTube channel, with himself and I commentating over the match!

The entire tournament will be held on the website Challonge.com. This makes everyone's life easier, especially mine. Make an account there BEFORE signing up, as you will be required to enter your Challonge username in this form.

RULES and INFO

The tournament will be a single elimination, 1v1 bracket, and will begin on Saturday, December 5th 2020, at 10am EST.

You are REQUIRED to livestream each match. This is to prevent cheating, in the form of 1.) lying about your run, or 2.) submitting a run you did 5 weeks ago as your tournament match run.

Each match will have a time limit of 5 HOURS **RACE TIME**. This means, the moment both players begin their match, the timer starts (aka deck reset time IS included, so if you reset for 30 minutes once the race begins, you now only have 4.5 hours until the 5 hour mark). If there is no winner by the 5 hour mark, the winner will be determined by a point system, which will be described below.

Once you know who you're facing for your match, you must get in contact with them and set a date/time for your match that is WITHIN the round deadlines I've described above. I highly recommend joining the Forbidden Memories Discord server ( www.discord.gg/ygofm ) and talking to your contestant there in the #tournament channel, or privately if you so choose. If you do not know how to contact your opponent, let me (GFC) know.

Each round must be completed within 3 days of starting. You are allowed to do your matches earlier, if you already have your opponent, but NOT later. It is very important that this tournament stays on-schedule this time around.

If your match is NOT completed by the deadline, I will contact you and your opponent to try and get a story of why. If there is clearly one person who was being the holdup, I reserve the right to disqualify them and give the win to their opponent. If both people in a match had scheduling issues, I will talk to them both and find a suitable solution on a case-by-case basis.


Use of RNG manipulation is not allowed. If we think you're using it, you'll be disqualified.

Use of an ISO that has any other modifications made to it OTHER than the 15 card mod will result in disqualification. Trust me, we can verify this type of thing by looking at the cards you're winning and how your duels go. Don't try it, you'll be caught quickly and banned from everything relating to FM, not just the tournament.

POINT SYSTEM

As I said before, if a match is not completed by the 5 hour mark, the winner will be determined by how many points they have.

You obtain points by winning duels against members of the Final 6. Here is the point breakdown:

Sebek - 1 point
Neku - 2 points
Heishin - 5 points
Seto 3rd - 10 points
Darknite - 7 points

Remember, your point count will ONLY be used if BOTH entrants are not completed by the 5 hour mark. If someone beats the game before you do, they win, regardless of how many points you or they have.
