From our YDAR Constitution,

"YDAR, and all members and units thereof, shall admit members without regard to any actual or perceived personal characteristic - including without limitation but not limited to religion, race, ethnicity, national origin, socioeconomic status, disability, sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation - to all the rights, privileges, programs, and other activities generally accorded or made available to members of this organization."

Leadership Code of Conduct
1. Be serious, but have fun. Energy and excitement are infectious. Politics is serious business, but if you are not having any fun or getting something out of the Young Democrats, get out, because chances are that the folks you are trying to mobilize will also “get it” and get out.
2. Take care of yourself - physically and emotionally. Being an organizer can mean too little sleep and too much stress. Take care of yourself. Yes, like your parents told you: eat vegetables, drink in moderation, stay focused, get regular amounts of sleep, exercise, and make it a priority to stay healthy emotionally and physically.
You are part of a team, and the team is why you are here. You win the future by working as a team, not trying to prove you’re better than everyone else. If you badmouth your fellow members, you hurt the team. If you badmouth another leader, you hurt the team. If you badmouth the chapter, you hurt the team. We’re all in this together.
3. If you have a problem, address it with the appropriate person in an appropriate way. Frustration and aggravation are normal. Being angry is normal. Wanting to scream is normal. But yelling and swearing in front of your fellow YDs is unprofessional, demoralizing, and annoying. Problems with supervisors, peers, the chapter, or a volunteer should be dealt with privately with the appropriate person or people.
4. Sexual harassment is a crime. No means no. If what you are doing makes another person uncomfortable, stop what you are doing. YDAR exists to build a progressive youth movement, and that means making sure we are a safe space for everyone to hear and be heard.
5. Remember you are always an ambassador for the Party. Your leadership means that people will always be looking to you as a role model and a representative of YDAR. How you act, what you say, what you do, and what you wear reflects back on the Democratic Party and the progressive movement.
