PURPOSE: To provide financial assistance to Southern Nevada residence of Asian Pacific Islander heritage who identify as part of the SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression) spectrum [also known as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer {LGBTQ}] and/or first generation college student who plans to attend a 4-year college, Community College, Trade School, or University.ELIGIBILITY: This program is open to Asian Pacific Islander folxs who are currently enrolled in a high school, community college, trade school and/or a university who claim residency in Nevada. Applicants must be be planning to attend or be currently attending a 4-year college, community college, trade school, or university. Along with their application, they must submit a resume/CV and a 500 word statement on their Asian Pacific Islander background, community involvement, career goals, and desire to give back to their community. Selection is based on personal commitment , goal established for their chosen field, leadership potential, and civic accomplishments.STATEMENT ESSAY QUESTIONS: Your experiences shape who you are as an individual beyond grades or test scores. In two pages statement, tell us how your experience has shaped you? Include your community involvement, career goals, and desire to give back to your community.SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT: 500 word statement. Submission must be in .Doc or .DocX or PDF.FINANCIAL DATA: The SNAPIQS Leadership Team will provide two (2) scholarship to two API Folxs $250 each.
