CPA2021 Diversity Travel Award Application
The CPA2021 Program Committee is committed to increasing inclusion and opportunities for trainees from underrepresented minority groups to attend the conference and present their research. CPA Diversity Travel Awards for CPA2021 are sponsored by the Society for Addiction Psychology. Two awards will be given for the 2021 conference, one to a graduate student and one to a postdoctoral fellow.

Eligibility Criteria
This award is intended for a graduate student (at the Masters or Doctorate level) and a postdoctoral fellow (currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship in an addictions-related area) who self-identify as a member of an underrepresented minority group and have limited financial resources to attend the conference. Please refer to guidelines put forth by the National Institutes of Health regarding defining individuals from underrepresented backgrounds: https://diversity.nih.gov/about-us/population-underrepresented. Only members of APA Division 50 are eligible to receive travel awards (includes Member or Student Affiliate status). Diversity Travel Award recipients are required to present a poster at the conference. If you are already presenting a symposium talk, you must also submit a poster abstract to be considered for this award. Recipients of other CPA2021 travel or registration awards are not eligible to receive the Diversity Travel Award. However, the other CPA awards will not be determined until a later date, so please apply if you want to be considered for the Diversity Travel Award.

Award Amounts
Awardees will receive a registration waiver and travel reimbursement.

Application & Selection Process
To apply, please complete a Diversity Travel Award Application using the online submission form. See below for detailed application instructions. You must provide a name and e-mail address for your supervisor or mentor. Application deadline is December 14, 2020. Selection will be based on blind peer review of poster abstracts by expert reviewers and consideration of the financial needs statement by the CPA Program Committee. Individuals with conflicts of interest or those who are applicants themselves will not be involved with the selections.
