Dear Parents/Caregivers

2020 has been a very difficult year for sport but we are thankful that we have at least been able to have some play and coaching at school. With this in mind we are going to run our own school badminton competition for all students interested during term 4.

Details are as follows:

The competition will be played on Friday after school starting Friday the 6th of November and will be played over 4 weeks concluding on Friday the 27th of November 2020.

VENUE - AJHS Gymnasium

GAME TIME - Session times  3.30pm to 4.30pm or 4.30pm to 5.30pm. Players will be sent a draw each week with details of their game times.  In most cases we will keep players in the same time slot but there could be occasions when players are required to play at the other time.

REQUIRED UNIFORM -  AJHS PE shirt and shorts. Players can bring their own rackets or borrow a school racket.  

REGISTRATION FEE -  There is no cost

COMPETITION FORMAT - There will be a singles and doubles competition and there will be 2 divisions - Intermediate (Year 7 and 8) and College (Year 9 and 10) but dependent on the number entries we may combine some divisions to allow lots of game play.

Doubles - Students can select their own partner or we can put players together if needed. Please fill in doubles partner name in the form below or put required if a partner is needed.

Matches will be first to 21 points with no advantage. Students not on the court will be asked to score matches.
We will aim to give students 2-3 matches per day, but this will be dependent on numbers.

REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE - Wednesday 28th October 2020

The competition is open to all playing levels from beginners through to advanced.

Please note: Students are required to attend the games every week. If they fail to attend one week of games then these games will be marked as a default.
