Honors courses are courses that are taught at a higher, more difficult level than regular courses. AP courses are taught at a college level as mandated by College Board. In addition, all students accepted into an AP course are required to take the AP exam in May (cost of the exam is approximately $98.00). Students in AP courses may be required to buy textbooks or other additional materials. Students who are accepted into Honors or AP courses are expected to remain in the course for the entire year.
Dual Credit courses are for students seeking "non-science" credit in college. Science majors will not be awarded credit toward their degree.
See course catalog (p. 9) for information regarding requirements for application and acceptance to advanced classes.
