Honors Thesis Eligibility Requirements (You must be graduating Spring 2024, Summer 2024, or Fall 2024): https://publichealth.berkeley.edu/academics/undergraduate/honors-thesis/

Successful applicants should have their signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and finalized faculty mentor by Finals Week. It can be harder to get a hold of faculty once summer begins. If you do not have all the parts required for this application, you will not be able to participate in the Honors Thesis program even if you have received a verbal yes from your faculty mentor.

Please complete this application and submit your mentor MOU by May 26, 2023 at 11:59pm (rolling admissions). You will need to complete both steps before you can be considered for acceptance into the Honors Thesis program.

Since it is a rolling deadline, you may still submit the application after the deadline if the application is still open. Students will be notified around mid August (the adjustment period) whether or not they have been admitted into the Honors Thesis Program.

Please be sure to enroll in PH 155A (3 units) for the Fall semester.
Permission numbers for PH H195A (3 units) will be provided during the adjustment period as long as you have submitted an application, submitted a signed MOU, and have enrolled in PH 155A.
The Honors Thesis will result in a letter grade.

The mentor Memorandum of Understanding can be under Application process for Honors Thesis section of the Undergraduate Honors Thesis webpage.

*Please note that students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.3 and a major GPA of 3.5 (upper division courses) to graduate with Honors.
