ElixirConf EU 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Scheme

We are pleased to announce that ElixirConf EU 2023 is implementing a Diversity & Inclusion Scheme sponsored by Fresha. The goal of the programme is to increase the diversity of attendees and offer support to those in the tech community who would not otherwise be able to attend the conference.

The Diversity Scheme is primarily aimed at (but not restricted to) women, people from ethnic minorities and people with disabilities who would otherwise not be able to attend the conference.

Please note, this year we are running a hybrid conference. We’ll be hosting a live event for those who are just as excited as us to attend in person in Lisbon on 20-21 April. There will be a mix of speakers attending in-person and streaming into the venue to help us create the right balance and atmosphere that you would expect from one of our events. The talks from the venue will be streamed to the virtual platform, accessible for those who attend online. While submitting the form, please make sure you choose the right option: in-person diversity ticket or virtual ticket.

Selection: A committee will review applications on an individual basis. All committee members will sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the anonymity of applicants. We will do our best to meet as many applications as possible.

AWARD: 10 virtual tickets and 5 in-person

Virtual: Applicants will receive a conference complimentary ticket for the virtual event on 20-21 April.


First deadline: 13/03/2023 (recipients chosen)

Second deadline: 24/03/20223 (if recipients do not confirm, tickets are redistributed)

Notification: All applicants will be notified via email with conference registration details.
