Several statements have been made regarding how the cost of living crisis is disproportionately affecting early career scientists (ECRs).

The UKPN wants to support our members by assembling some basic numbers and facts which may hopefully allow us to get a better picture of how the cost of living crisis is affecting Environmental ECRs and Polar ECRs. Specifically, the UKPN wishes to outline the potential repercussions this may have on the future generation of Polar scientists but also back any qualitative statements about the current situation with statistical data. 

Please note that we intend to publish aggregate statistics based on the data of this survey. The survey is intended to be anonymous and all efforts have been made to ensure anonymity. Unless specifically indicated, the responses to the survey are aggregated in a manner neither allowing for the identification of individual respondents nor for the attribution of individual responses to a respondent.
