Thank you for ordering from Okoboji Organics/Okoboji Pastures, a local pasture-based certified organic farm located in Okoboji, Iowa!

Kate Mendenhall, farm owner/operator raises pastured certified organic pork, whole chickens, and whole turkeys fed certified organic feed and grazed on certified organic pasture.  We also have eggs from free range chickens that graze our organic pasture & eat organic grains.  Our meat is delicious and nutritious because our animals have happy outdoor lives where they can express their natural species-specific instincts.  Their organic diet of grains and pasture create a more nutritious meat that is full of flavor.

EGGS 
Our laying hens have free range during the spring, summer, and fall, and have free outdoor access throughout the winter.  They are fed certified organic grains and have access to organic pasture 3 seasons of the year.  

Unfortunately a predator has eaten most of my flock and we are out of eggs for a while.  :-(

ORGANIC CHICKEN
Our chickens arrive at our farm as 1-2 day old baby chicks. The certified organic chickens free-range on pasture during the day and at night they are enclosed in a pen on pasture to protect them from predators.  In addition to eating organic pasture, we feed them organic grains from a local organic mill.   We sell whole chickens, and also will have breasts, legs, thighs, wings available for purchase.  Whole chickens are $4.99/lb.
2025 WHOLE CHICKEN RESERVATIONS 
We are taking reservations for whole chickens, available in late June 2025.  Please indicate the number of whole chickens you would like to reserve for the June 2025 batch and if you prefer small, large, or a mix of sizes.

ORGANIC WHOLE TURKEYS
Our certified organic turkeys arrive at our farm as day-old poults and are raised on pasture.  Once they are large enough not to be vulnerable to predators they get to free range across the whole 17.5 acres of our farm!  They also eat organic grains from a local organic feed mill.   Whole turkeys are $6.49/lb.
2025 TURKEY RESERVATIONS 
We are taking reservations for 2025 turkeys, available in late September.  Please sign your name with the number of turkeys you would like (2025) and if you would prefer small or large size.  
ORGANIC & PASTURED PORK 
We raise certified organic pasture-raised pigs on our Okoboji farm, and we do not add anyone else's pork to our products.  When you purchase our pork, you are buying the healthiest pork meat available, and contributing to good land stewardship and happy hogs.  All cured products are nitrate free & sausages do not contain MSG.

1.  Pork Chops: We had some miscommunication with our butcher this year and did not receive what we ordered.  We unfortunately do not have any pork chops in 2025.  We are very sorry and will fix this for 2026.  
2.  Breakfast Sausage:  Unfortunately our butcher did not form our breakfast sausage into patties, so it is sold in bulk 1lb packages.  Same delicious sausage, different shape.  You can easily slice it into patties.
3.* designates certified organic final product.  Other products are sold under Okoboji Pastures brand - all pigs were raised certified organic but some ingredients (herbs, etc.) in sausage & hams are not certified so those products cannot carry a final organic label due to limitations from our processor's organic certification)

Farm Store Hours
The farm store is open June-August on Saturdays 10-12.   If you place an order online, you will receive an invoice once your order is packed and placed in the outdoor freezer at the farm for you to pick up at your convenience.
