TCSA is looking for a group of enthusiastic high school student volunteers to assist in the running of TCSA's 2024 Summer Soccer Camp. We are constantly on the look for great volunteers looking to grow their leadership skills, earn valuable life skills, and fulfill their high school community service.
We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about sports, motivated to succeed, and are willing to learn! All logistics volunteers will be trained through our training session before the start of the season!
Age: 14 (*if you will be entering Grade 9 and you are turning 14 in 2024) and above
Time Commitment: Every Sunday from 9:15 am to 1:00 pm

Location: Terry Fox Park (300 Bamburgh Circle, Scarborough, ON M1W 3Y1)
Position Description:- You will be responsible in assisting the Coach in your assigned team with the organization and operation of the team (setting up the practice drills, gathering soccer balls)
- Assist coaching staff in organizing players and transitioning them smoothly between stages of practice
- You will work closely with the children on an individual basis to develop their individual soccer skills through personal interaction and conversations
- To promote an enjoyable and safe sporting and learning experience for everyone
- Teach and role model TCSA's core values of teamwork, commitment, leadership, and sportsmanship
- Help with the set-up and clean-up of the equipment before and after weekly practice.
Teams Requiring Coaching Associates
Qualifications
- Current experience with team sports
(i.e. Basketball, swimming, dance, baseball), genuine fan interest of soccer (i.e. being a fan of a team), of if you are looking to gain leadership/coaching experience
- Any prior positive youth development (babysitting, working with your local church, Reading Buddies at school) experience is a plus, but is not required
- Familiarity with the basic rules and positions of the sport of soccer is suggested
- You are comfortable in interacting and speaking with young children
- Ability to work in both a hands-on, team environment and independently.
If you are applying for this role, please state your experience with soccer. Any previous experience as a soccer player, athlete or as a past TCSA camper will be considered an asset for this role.
