These are to be picked up at the farm located at 1345 Levac Road in Cache Bay, Ontario on: Saturday, May 25, 2024 OR Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10h00 to 14h00.

The potting soil mix used with the live plants is certified organic and the seeds are certified organic and/or heirloom where possible.

The seeds are from Three Forks Farms.

All varieties were chosen based on northern hardiness, and most have been successfully grown on our farm.

All plants are $4 per pot or 18 pots for $65 (10% discount) plus HST.

All seeds are $3.95 per pack.

In 2023 we took deposits which will not be the case this year.  In 2024 the whole amount will be due by the invoice due date or else your order will be cancelled.

Vigorous plants withstand a wide range of environmental stresses to reliably produce uniform, tight domes. 75 days to maturity.

Midseason red with good flavour. Avg. 3 lb. heads are a vibrant red and are round to slightly oval.

Kale (Winterbor F1)
Kale doesn't form a head, which means that it can give more than one crop off of one planting. Keep harvesting from the bottom up, taking only the bigger leaves.

Kale (Lacinato-Dazzling Blue)
Dark blue-green leaves with an "embossed texture"; its taste is described as slightly sweeter and more delicate and more nutritive than curly kale, but it does yield a bit less.

Eggplant (Rosa Bianca)
Pink and white Italian heirloom.Round, 4-6" long by 5-7" diameter fruit streaked with white and violet. This traditional Italian variety is best adapted to regions with warm nights. Expect low yields in cool areas.

FLOWERS
The following three varieties of flowers are those we use in our gardens as an intercrop to keep insect pests away and beneficials near.

B for beginner
Celosia (Pampas Plume)
*New in 2024*   Masses of soft, feathery, 2–6" long plumes in scarlet, orange, bright yellow, pink, cream. Multi-branching plants produce 10–14 stems each. It can be grown in a container or in the garden. Celosia flowers attract bees and other pollinators. Planted near a vegetable garden, it will also help ensure pollination and fruit set on the vegetable plants.

Cosmos (Sonata Mixed)
Premium Grade. A dwarf-free flowering variety. Cosmos attract bees and other friendly pollinators. As a result, fruit set is increased for tomatoes, squash and many other blooming vegetables.

Marigold (Garland Orange)
Deep orange, very double blooms with long sturdy stems. The strong scent of marigolds may be the reason they are such amazing helpers in the garden; simply put, their scent masks the scent of your vegetables.

Zinnia (Oklahoma Mix)
Improved medium sized dahlia flowered mix. These flowers seem to attract butterflies,  we saw many more in the areas where the zinnias were planted.

Strawflower (King Mix)
*New in 2024*   King Mix is a special selection of large-flowered, extra double strawflowers that grow atop 3-4 feet tall and sturdy stems. The mixture provides a superb array of brilliant colours, including fiery red, dark pink, rose, copper, gold, yellow and white.

Bachelor Buttons
*New in 2024*    Popular blue petit flower great for arrangements.  The pollen of Centaurea cyanus is used by several different insect species. Flowers all summer.

Calendula (Pacific Beauty)
The easy-to-grow annual is lovely as a cut flower or a garnish. Has a long history as both an ornamental garden plant and as an herb. When dried, the petals of Calendula flowers provide a culinary substitute for saffron or as an ingredient in tea blends.

Chamomile (Bodegold)
*New in 2024*   Bodegold Chamomile is a highly sought after improved version of German Chamomile. Its oil content and yield are both greater, making this an excellent choice for high yields in small spaces. Plants are also more compact, reaching 1 foot tall. Blooms can be dried for use in tea blends all Winter long. A real treat in any garden, sure to delight all your senses!

Echinacea

*New in 2024* Common purple coneflower.

Easy-to-grow echinacea. Vigorous plants with large, purple-petaled flowers. Fibrous roots are easy to harvest (other species have taproots). Attracts and is a food source for bees. Normally grown for 3–4 years for harvest of sizeable roots. Perennial in Zones 3–10.

Wild Bergamot

*New in 2024* Bright lavender blooms with a spicy scent.

Traditionally used to soothe bronchial complaints and ease colds. Plants produce flowers in the second year after planting. Add petals to salads, sprinkle over mild fish, use in fruit salads, or to garnish desserts and drinks. Flavor is minty and spicy. Nectar plant for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Zones 4 to 8.

Ground Cherry (Goldie)
1/2-3/4" sweet golden berries inside papery husks. Fruits drop when ripe. Can be eaten raw, dried, or in baked goods. Use drop down menu to select number of plants you would like.

HERBS
A great addition to any garden, herbs can be part of companion planting. Try putting basil next to tomato plants, for instance.

Basil (Genovese)
Italian variety with authentic flavour and appearance. Tall and relatively slow to bolt with large dark-green leaves about 3" long. Use the flowers in any recipe that calls for basil, or to garnish drinks, salads, soups, pasta, and desserts.

Authentic Thai basil flavour. Try it as a garnish for sweet dishes. Green, 2" long leaves have a spicy, anise/clove flavour. Attractive purple stems and blooms.

Dill (Bouquet)
Good seed and leaf yields. Early-flowering plants produce large blooms on long stems. The flowers and leaves are used to garnish potato salad, green salads, and pickles.

A uniform curly parsley that stands upright. Dark green leaves with mild flavour makes it good for both fresh eating and processing. Versatile and well-suited to containers as well as garden production.

Thyme
Good flavour and yield. Classic culinary and ornamental herb. Small, round to needle-shaped evergreen leaves on woody stems. Versatile and well-suited to containers as well as garden production.

LETTUCE
B for beginner.
Butterhead lettuce
Has the tendency to fill in but stay open at the same time, creating a longer harvest window than varieties that form dense heads. Widely adaptable and performs well in spring, summer, and fall.

Summercrisp lettuce
One of the best heat tolerant heads for summer harvests. Bright green leaves with deep red colouring on the leaf margins. Crunchy with sweet flavour. I often use it interchangeably with Romaine in my cooking.

Classic romaine with modern disease resistance.Attractive, dark green savoy leaves on tall, upright heads that fill out nicely and remain partially open when mature.

ONIONS
One order represents three onion plants in one pot. You can plant them as is or separate them, the yield won't change too much.

Onion
Classic yellow. One of the more dependable and productive onions. Medium-large, blocky, firm, yellow onions are early and suited to storage if cured.

Scallions (Parade)
Organic bunching onion. Parade has bright white shanks with no bulbing, and dark green, erect foliage. We've been growing this variety since 2012 and have found it to be very consistent and uniform.

SWEET PEPPER

Sweet Pepper (Ajvarski)
Consistently produces our highest yield of sweet peppers. Two-foot, stocky plants are covered in 6- to 7-inch, broadly wedge-shaped pods that ripen green to red.

Sweet Pepper (Gypsy)
*New in 2024*   Replaces Antohi Romanian. Smooth, 5" long by 2" wide, tapered, pointed fruits are pale yellow and ripen red. The upright plants have good branch strength and yield early.

The most reliable bell pepper for northern climates. Plants bear heavy yields of huge, blocky, 6 inch fruits with juicy, thick walls and fantastic, sweet flavour.

Hot Pepper (Anaheim - Highlander F1)
Good productivity even in cooler regions where Anaheim types often are shy yielding. Traditional, semi flattened, mostly two-lobed fruits avg. 7" x 2".

The earliest to ripen! Corking tell you that they are hot and ready to pick.

Hot Pepper (Poblano)
Mild chili perfect for stuffing or dried for powder or winter use. Stout dark green 4-6" fruits are moderately spicy with medium-thick walls. Well adapted variety which provide good yields in cool conditions.

Hot Pepper (Shishito)
*New in 2024*   Avg. 3–3 1/2" fruits are thin-walled and only 1 out of 10 are spicy. Popular in Japan, where its thin walls make it particularly suitable for tempura. Also very good roasted, in stir-fries, or sautéed. Thinly sliced, the red, slightly sweet fruits are excellent in salads and coleslaws. The plants are large and very productive.

Summer Squash (Green Zucchini)

*Back in 2024* Organic, early, powdery mildew resistant.

A high-yielder of dark green, straight zucchinis. Open plants and short spines make for an easy harvest. Sets fruit well with minimal pollinator activity.

*New in 2024* A beloved heirloom with a hard, bumpy, blue-green shell.  Medium-dry, medium-sweet yellow flesh. Avg. weight: 12–15 lb., with some larger. 100 days to maturity.

*Back in 2024* Unique appearance with cream skin and dark green longitudinal stripes and flecks. Tastes very sweet and skin is tender enough to eat. Excellent for stuffing and baking, even right at harvest! 7–9" long x 3" diam. Avg. weight: 1 1/2–2 lb. 95 days to maturity.

Winter Squash (Spaghetti)

Slightly sweet, nutty flavor. An excellent pasta alternative—bake or boil, fork out the flesh, and top the "spaghetti" with your favorite sauce. Attractive, bright lemon-yellow shell. High-yielding semi bush plants which makes them suitable for denser plantings. Avg. weight: 3 lb. 85 days to maturity.
