Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Murrays Bay Primary School is dedicated to giving our students innovative and creative opportunities to learn. We understand that we learn in many different ways and from many different people. During Term 3 our entire school will be participating in different passion projects for an entire week. Your child has chosen their passion and will participate in a week of learning and growing in their chosen area. This is a fantastic opportunity for different ages of students to work together and learn from each other, while possibly working with different teachers too!
Your child has chosen Baking as their Passion Project and will participate in a 3 day, hands on learning experience from Tuesday, 31 August - Thursday, 2 September. This is a great opportunity for different students to work together and learn from each other while having fun!
Teachers involved:

Here is what they will learn:
What is in their food. Going behind the scenes at looking at what ingredients make up those yummy treats.
Maths. You learn to count and understand fractions - what is ¼ of a cup?
Science. Looking at the reactions that happen with certain ingredients - Why?
Reading. Reading in real-life context helps kids better comprehend what they are reading.
Following directions. Following every step, in order and why this is important.
Patience. Baking teaches you that the best things are worth waiting for.
Problem Solving. Made a mistake? No need to panic. How can we fix it?
As we are making food, your child will be in contact with ingredients such as eggs, flour, dairy products and traces of nuts within other products. If your child has an allergy to food product (we do not have a gluten free option) and you are concerned about them being in this group, please feel free to contact:

The cost for the 3 days is $25.00. This MUST be paid before Friday, 27 August 2021.
This will cover the cost for all ingredients.
